Before you can connect your social media accounts to Social Counters, you need:
✅ A Facebook Page (not just a personal profile)

Troubleshooting: “Page Not Appearing”
If your Facebook Page or Instagram account doesn’t appear after connecting:
Problem 1: You’re Not an Admin
Solution:
You must be an Admin of the Facebook Page (not just Editor or Moderator).
To check:
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Click Settings
- Click Page roles in the left menu
- Make sure you’re listed as Admin
To add yourself as Admin:
- Ask the current Admin to add you
- Or use a different account that has Admin access
Problem 2: Instagram Not Properly Linked
Solution:
Make sure your Instagram Business account is properly connected to your Facebook Page.
To verify:
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Click Settings
- You should see your Instagram account listed
- If not, click Connect account and follow the steps
Problem 3: Account Role Restrictions
Some Facebook Page admins experience issues due to complex page roles or Business Portfolio settings.
Solution : Add a Secondary Admin
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Settings → Page roles
- Click Add person
- Enter the email of another Facebook account you own
- Select Admin as the role
- Confirm
Then:
- Log out of your main Facebook account
- Log in with the secondary admin account
- Connect to Social Counters using this account
- ✅ This often works when the main account doesn’t!
Common Questions
Q: Can I connect a personal Instagram account?
A: No, you need an Instagram Business or Creator account. Personal accounts don’t have access to follower count data through the API.
Q: Do I need to keep Facebook and Instagram linked?
A: Yes! Social Counters uses the Facebook connection to access your Instagram Business account data. If you disconnect them, your Instagram counter will stop updating.
Q: I have multiple Facebook Pages. Can I connect them all?
A: Yes! You can connect up to 4 accounts with a Premium subscription. Each Facebook Page (and its linked Instagram account) counts as separate accounts.
Q: Why does the connection ask for so many permissions?
A: Social Counters only needs:
- Access to your Facebook Pages list
- Read follower counts (publicly available data)
- Access to linked Instagram Business accounts
We never post on your behalf, read messages, or access private data.
Q: What if my Instagram is linked to multiple Facebook Pages?
A: An Instagram Business account can only be linked to one Facebook Page at a time. Make sure it’s linked to the correct page before connecting.
